Selma Huxley, who studied palaeography in DEUSTO, receives the 2018 International Prize from the Spanish Geography Society

The Spanish Geography Society awarded the British-Canadian historiographer Selma Huxley, who studied palaeography in DEUSTO, its 2018 International Prize last March.

Huxley, who is certainly one of the most remarkable Deusto alumni, dedicated her life to the study of Basque wales fishermen on the Canadian coast in the period of 1500-1700. Her work was of pivotal importance for understanding the adventures of Basque sailors in the New World.
