DEUSTO launches two pilot groups to develop guidelines to introduce gender mainstreaming in teaching and research

As a key action of the Horizon 2020 Gearing Roles Project and DEUSTO Gender Equality Plan, the University of Deusto has launched two pilot groups to develop the University´s guidelines to introduce gender mainstreaming in teaching and research.

The initiative has the following specific objectives:

  • to create a pilot group of volunteer teaching staff from all the faculties for the application of the gender perspective in teaching;
  • to develop DEUSTO guidelines for the introduction of the gender perspective in teaching, adapting existing material;
  • to publish good practices when of introducing the gender perspective, as highlighted by the Teaching Innovation Conference;
    to prepare a manual for the incorporation of gender in research.

The initiative will include both training (during the last semester of 2020) and teamwork (during the first semester of 2021) actions and it will be coordinated by DEUSTO University Social Responsibility and the Gender Interdisciplinary Research Platform. The working groups will be led by María López Belloso, María Jesús Pando, María Pilar Rodríguez and María Silvestre Cabrera.
