DEUSTO provides scientific input for a movie on Frontotemporal Dementia

The Spanish actor, Javier Bardem, is currently filming the movie “Molly” in New York and Almeria on the Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), where he plays a patient affected by this disease. Last December the actor met DEUSTO researcher Manuel Pérez Álvarez (Neuroemotion research team) in Bilbao in order to get evidence-based knowledge on this disease to better prepare his character.

DEUSTO Neuroemotion research team has recently released the publication “What is Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis-FTD Psychological support guide for caregivers” as part of the DEUSTO SOCIAL IMPACT BRIEFINGS collection n.2 (2017) providing an initial look at the carers and families’ situation and outlining the main scientific findings in this field.
