The University of Deusto has been selected by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO), to participate in the EU CAREERS AMBASSADORS initiative - 2018/2019

This initiative aimed at pre-doctoral researchers (ESRs) of the Deusto International Research School (DIRS) who want to act as Ambassadors in their university campus, promoting their careers in institutions or agencies of the European Union (European Commission, Parliament and Council). Ambassadors will benefit from continuous and comprehensive coaching, occupying a position of responsibility, through which they can acquire new skills highly valued by employers.

Given the pilot nature of this initiative for the University, and with the intention of determining its operation and the possibilities it offers, the University will invite the members of the DIRS-COFUND project to participate in this first year call. The ultimate goal is to open this participation to the entire Doctoral School in future calls, so that all ESRs can benefit from it and have more options for developing their professional careers.

The Ambassadors will receive a comprehensive training that will perfectly prepare them for the role, thanks to which they will be able to develop the necessary skills to be a successful Ambassador. In addition, in a highly competitive postgraduate labor market, a position of responsibility such as the one offered can make a big difference.

These Ambassadors should act as a contact point for students interested in EU careers, they will research target groups and contact university media services to set up distribution lists of information on EU careers. Furthermore, they will give presentations, attend university career events and must report regularly on their activities.

In addition, they will have the possibility to establish contacts with students and institutions throughout Europe and have access to senior EU officials.
