The research project addresses the issue of environmental sustainability and aims to advance a new waste management model based on the principles of circular economy. This will be achieved by integrating and validating 20 eco innovative solutions covering the entire value chain, enabling:
- The creation of new jobs and interaction with more than 20 participating agencies or collaborators.
- Identifying new business models that contribute to reduce GHG emissions, reuse of materials and converting waste and promoting a model of circular economy.
- Solutions provided in Waste4Think meet the needs of medium sized municipalities.
- The project results have a direct impact in the short term in the municipalities in terms of prevention and recycling, which will result in a significant reduction of waste with improvements in classification rates and, consequently, a reduction in overall system costs.
