The Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer has two specialized units to support the management of research.
The OTRI-DEIKER is responsible for supporting teams and researchers in the identification and management of local, regional and national calls for proposals and projects. In addition, it focuses on transfer of knowledge offering support in the areas of intellectual property and patent registration and assisting with university-industry collaborations.
The International Research Projects Office (IRPO) is heavily specialized in the internationalization of DEUSTO research teams and research staff. It maintains institutional relations in international networks and forums. It establishes connections and promotes collaborations between disciplines and with stakeholders to align expertise and thus improve the positioning of the university in projects and initiatives of excellence.
In addition, the Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer regularly convenes the Research Board to monitor the progress of the University Strategic Research Plan. This board is made up of the Faculties’ Vice-deans of Research, the director of the International Doctoral School (DIRS), the director of the Office of International Research Projects (IRPO) and the Director of The Office of National Projects and Transfer (OTRI-Deiker).
