Research support services

The Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer has two specialised units to support the management of research.

The OTRI-DEIKER is responsible for supporting teams and researchers in the identification and management of local, regional and national calls for proposals and projects. In addition, it focuses on transfer of knowledge offering support in the areas of intellectual property and patent registration and assisting with university-industry collaborations.

The International Research Projects Office (IRPO) is heavily specialised in the internationalisation of DEUSTO research teams, staff and initiatives. It maintains institutional relations with international networks and fora. It establishes connections and promotes interdisciplinary and intersectorial collaborations and with stakeholders,aligning the different expertise and contributing to improve the positioning of the university in projects and initiatives of excellence, as well as the impact of its research on society.

In addition, the Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer regularly convenes the Research Board to monitor the progress of the University Strategic Research Plan. This board is made up of the Faculties’ Vice-deans of Research, the Director of Deusto International Research School (DIRS), the Director of the International Research Projects Office (IRPO) and the Director of the Office of National Projects and Transfer (OTRI-Deiker).
