YOUCOUNT: New Horizon 2020 interdisciplinary research project on cocreative youth citizen social science

The European project YOUCOUNT: Empowering youth and cocreating social innovations and policymaking through youth-focused citizen social science has started on 1 February 2021. The project, funded by Horizon 2020, counts with the participation of Orkestra - Basque Institute of Competitiveness and the social work department of the University of Deusto.

YOUCOUNT’s overarching objective is to generate new knowledge and innovations to increase the social inclusion of youth at risk of exclusion across Europe through cocreative youth citizen social science. The project targets two strands of inquiry: 1) knowledge about social inclusion and how to create social change through the involvement of young citizen scientists and 2) contributing to the scientific knowledge base for youth citizen social science increased scaling.

Led by OSLOMET - STORBYUNIVERSITETET, the project counts with the participation of 11 partners from different EU countries (Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, Spain, Austria, Lithuania, Hungary, and Italy).

Fruit of the collaborations promoted by the Interdisciplinary Research Platform Strengthening Participation, DEUSTO’s research team will be in charge of the Work Package on dissemination, exploitation and communication (ORKESTRA) and of one of the nine case studies focusing on unaccompanied youth migrants (University of Deusto).
