Most of the research on migration has been approached from the "economic" point of view, ignoring the impact of other social and emotional aspects. Furthermore, many of the works have focused on individuals, and generally neglect family variables.
This guide, designed for practitioners in the sector, raises the idea of analysing the impact of migration on how regrouped Latin American families function, making it possible to work with this group from this approach.
The guide also aims to contribute to changing discriminatory ways of thinking and attitudes concerning migrant families. It includes gender and interculturality perspectives to foster rethinking concepts and the role of migrant families in an intercultural society.
