LabsLand is identified as best practice in empowering STEM training through remote experimentation

On 11 February 2021, during the presentation of the Spanish Entrepreneurial strategy, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, presented the LabsLand as “a great example” of eliminating barriers to education. The President outlined DEUSTO’s spin-off’s relevance for the future of digital education and its contribution during the lockdown due to the current pandemic.

LabsLand started as a spin-off of the University of Deusto (WebLab-Deusto research team, Faculty of Engineering) and has developed over the years as a learning system allowing students to remotely access real equipment as if they were in a hands-on-lab session. During the lockdown period LabsLand offered free access to all their laboratories to the educational centres that were forced to close.

As part of the WebLab activities, Labslab has gained experience in International (NSF USA), European and national projects and has been awarded with several prizes.
