DEUSTO discusses the EU Migration, Border Management and Asylum Reform towards an effective enforcement

On 12 June the University of DEUSTO will organise a webinar on the “EU Migration, Border Management and Asylum Reform” with the participation of international experts coming from different organisations such as academia, practitioners, think tanks, European institutions.

This roundtable aims at discussing the recently introduced changes in migration, border management and asylum policies towards more forms of transnational and centralised enforcement.

Prof. Gema Tomás Martínez, Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Deusto, and Dr. David Fernández-Rojo, Coordinator of the topic on Enforcement in EU Migration, Asylum and Migrant Smuggling of the EULEN network will open the virtual event.

The programme will continue with three additional sessions on:

  • Enforcement in EU Border Management (chaired by Dr. David Fernandez-Rojo)
  • Enforcement in EU Asylum (chaired by Prof Joana Abrisketa Uriarte)
  • Enforcement in EU Migrant Smuggling (chaired by Dr. Josune López Rodríguez)

The virtual event will be closed by Dr. Miroslava Scholten, Associate Professor of EU Law of the Utrecht University and Coordinator of the Jean Monnet Network EULEN.
