Theologian Carmen Bernabe becomes the first woman leading the Spanish Biblical Association

Carmen Bernabé, professor of the University of Deusto - Faculty of Theology, has been appointed Director of the Spanish Biblical Association (ABE), becoming the first woman leading this association.

Carmen Bernabé has been Director of the Association of Spanish Theologians (ATE) since 2010 and is known for her publications of social and ecclesial relevance, with a particular focus on the reinterpretation of the Origins of Christianity.

Deusto professor, Carlos Gil, was also appointed member of the management team at the same meeting in which Carmen Bernabé was nominated.

In an interview, Prof. Carmen Bernabé states that a greater presence of women in theology enriches the discipline.
