DEUSTO commemorates 8 March, International Women's Day, with a wide range of activities

DEUSTO celebrates the International Women´s Day on 8 March, confirming its firm commitment to gender equality by proposing initiatives aiming to raise University’s awareness.

The implementation of different challenges on TikTok and Instagram platforms of both the University and the Horizon 2020 GEARING ROLES project seeks to involve students through the creation of videos on gender equality in the university and professional environments. This initiative has been done in 5 languages (Spanish, Basque, English, Italian and Portuguese) and counted with the support of the Antzerkide Association for Social Inclusion through Arts.

The University has also released a series of videos summarising some of the main results of the Gender Equality Diagnosis and the lines of action of the University of Deusto Equality Plan. These videos revolve around the following axes: recruitment, promotion and salary gap; co-responsible conciliation; gender perspective in teaching and research; leadership; sexual harassment.

The initiatives to celebrate the International Women´s Day include other awareness-raising actions, such as a prayer, the exhibitions "Women in Fight" (Amnesty International Euskadi) and "12 women" (Jordi Bermejo - Boemius Art), the screening of "La Meva Pell" and Orkestra's thematic bulletin on "Competitiveness and gender".

The commitment of the University of Deusto with effective gender equality is also confirmed by supporting CRUE and RUIGEU 8 March manifestos.
