Deusto Business School analyses female entrepreneurship in sports and technology

The BBK Foundation with the support of Deusto Business School y MET Community (Mujer, Empresa y Tecnología) organised on 13 June an event to discuss female entrepreneurship.

The main objective of the event was to generate conversation, inspire, invite reflection and identify actions based on the possibilities offered by women´ sport in the professional world and assess how the digital revolution, technologies, can favor it in the future.

One of the covered topics was the gap that still exists in prizes, sponsorships, aid received by athletes of both sexes. This eventually generates less advertising space in the media, causing that "only male sport interests the citizens". Xabier de la Torre (Fundación BBK) and Virginia Gómez (Deusto Business School), have mentioned the vocation of the BBK Behatokia observatory to provide reflections and data that help to better understand the great economic and social challenges of Bizkaia, and to generate constructive debates among the agents of the territory around them.
