One of the objectives of Deusto undergraduate studies is to design and regulate the learning spaces in the different dimensions covered by the topics of gender equality, equity and respect of human rights, shaping citizenship education values. At the macro level, these studies target the development of competences focused on the promotion of a more egalitarian and inclusive education between girls and boys, to overcome stereotypes, to promote democratic values education and the respect of the environment and universal accessibility. These subjects are developed in a transversal manner in numerous Undergraduate Degree Programmes, such as in Social Sciences, Ethics and Professional Ethics, Language and Communication skills, Language and Literature, Foreign Language studies.

Discrimination and gender violence are the first problems of social nature where there is social intervention. This course applies a new methodology for approaching and understanding the social reality that significantly impacts the gender perspective. The course is structured in five units: Gender: a Social Construction; The Gender Perspective in the Analysis of the Social Reality; Gender and Social Exclusion; Discrimination and Public Policies for Gender Equality; Gender Violence.
