At DEUSTO, research in this topic aims at bringing together cities, industry and citizens to design sustainable smart solutions and business models that can be scaled up and replicated leading to measurable benefits in energy (H2020 GREENSOUL, H2020 WASTE4THINK) transport (H2020 TIMON and FP7 MOVESMART) and resource productivity enabled by ICT.

DEUSTO’s research on Energy addresses present and future companies’ needs, while protecting the environment and increasing the energy efficiency. Expertise focuses on finding new ICT-based solutions for monitoring, sensors, communications and automation within the areas of energy networks, environment and clean technologies, models and integration of energy systems and energy distribution knowledge systems.

Underpinning this work is a broad portfolio of international and cross sectoral collaborative projects and a strong presence in international networks. Likewise currently DEUSTO participates in the “Sustainable Urban Mobility” Action Cluster of the EIP on Smart Cities and Communities creating synergies between ICT and transport.
