The #PorElClima Community, promoted by the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, has chosen the GreenSoul project as one of the 101 best business examples of actions that work in a relevant and innovative way in the fight against climate change at the state level.
The University of Deusto, which is a partner in this project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme, is the only university highlighted in the third edition of an initiative that aims to make visible the most inspiring and avant-garde measures to stop climate and environmental collapse. The GreenSoul project has been highlighted as an excellent example of innovation to achieve energy efficiency in Europe. Aiming to reduce energy consumption in public buildings through public awareness, in addition to the traditional techniques, the GreenSoul project wants to use human behavior to significantly reduce energy consumption and help to achieve a positive energy balance in buildings, where a building can produce more energy than it uses. The main objective is to increase energy efficiency in public buildings by altering the way people use electric powered devices. The project responds to the UN Sustainable Development Goals 7 - Affordable and clean energy for all and 13 - Climate Action, as well as to the main objectives of the EU Package Clean Energy for all Europeans Package.
