Our H2020 Waste4Think project is finalist for the 2019 enerTIC Awards. You can vote at www.enerTIC.org/Awards

The European project Waste4Think: Moving towards life cycle thinking by integrating advanced waste management systems has been selected as finalist for the enerTIC Awards 2019 in the Horizon Europe category. Waste4think is a project coordinated by DEUSTO and funded by Horizon 2020: the EU research and innovation programme.

Waste4Think aims at moving forward the current waste management system into a circular economy model integrating and validating 20 eco-innovative solutions that cover all the waste value chain. These solutions are being validated in 4 municipalities: Zamudio (Spain), Halandri (Greece), Cascais (Portugal) and Seveso (Italy), representing different socio-demographic characteristics, industrialisation levels and waste management models. Waste4Think has a also a social dimension: to raise awareness and educate to transform habits and establish a new efficient, sustainable and transparent management system, generating new governance and business models.

The enerTIC Awards reward since 2013, innovative technological projects carried out by companies and organisations committed to energy efficiency and sustainability. Both public and private organisations have submitted their applications to 22 categories, such as Smart Cities, Smart Energy, Smart Industry 4.0, Smart IT Infrastructure, International Projects, Horizon Europe Projects and Innovative Startups. On 12 September, the Experts Commission of the enerTIC Platform evaluated the more than 130 projects submitted and chose the finalists in each of the categories. The selection process have taken into consideration the following evaluation criteria: degree of innovation, usability of Information and Communication Technologies, the impact on the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions, the exemple model or applicability in other organisations / environments, and the use of metrics and indicators for improvement

You can vote on the Waste4Think project from 1 October to 15 November at this page. Your vote will decide on the winning projects of the enerTIC Awards, which will be announced on 12 December at the Official Award Ceremony at the Secretary of State for Digital Advancement (Madrid).
