As coordinator of the ongoing DIRS project and of the 6i-DIRS project starting in October 2019, the University of Deusto was invited by the European Commission to the Workshop on Marie Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Programmes. The event was organised in Brussels on 29 and 30 April 2019.
Osane Uriarte, Research Advisor at the International Research Project Office of the University of Deusto, and project manager of the DIRS and the 6i-DIRS projects, acted as rapporteur of the working group on communication and dissemination of the COFUND doctoral programes and its calls.
On the second day of the workshop, Toñi Caro, Head of the International Research Project Office and overall coordinator of both COFUND projects, co-chaired the wrap-up and setting up of conclusions session.
The main objective of the working session was to facilitate discussions and to share good practices among the coordinators of the different COFUND Doctoral Progammes. Participants shared their early experiences and lessons learnt and put forward recommendations for the new research framework programme Horizon Europe.
The debate was organised around different aspects of MSCA COFUND doctoral programmes, such as the communication and dissemination of doctoral programmes and its calls; the evaluation and selection of PhD fellows; the quality of the doctoral training and of the supervision of international PhD fellows; and the overall management of a COFUND doctoral programme.
