Meet the Fellows of the 6i-Dirs COFUND project: Ubaid

Meet the Fellows of the 6i Dirs COFUND project!

We continue our series of presenting our MSCA researchers by introducing Ubaid Ullah.

Ubaid joined 6i Dirs from Pakistan, where he completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electronics at the University of Peshawar, and a Master of Philosophy degree in Electronics at the Quaid-i-Azam University. Additionally, he had more than 6 years of experience in different private firms as a Junior Engineer.

Presently, as a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Deusto, Ubaid is carrying out his thesis in the field of Quantum Machine Learning Approach applied to health care and well-being. His research work is an example of the interdisciplinarity that lies in the core of the 6iDirs project, as he is being supervised by Dr. Begoña García-Zapirain, from the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Aurora Madariaga Ortuzar, from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Ubaid is also a member of the research group eVIDA.

On the 17th of November Ubaid presented one of his papers titled "Severity Classification of COVID-19 Patients Data using Quantum Machine Learning Approaches" at the International Conference on Electrical, Computer, Communications and Mechatronics Engineering.
