K. Josu Bijuesca holds a BA in Basque Philology and another one in Hispanic Philology, both from the University of Deusto, and a PhD in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB).He is currently Assistant Professor at the University of Deusto, where he teaches at the Bilbao campus. His teaching currently is devoted to the Basque Language and Culture, Modern Languages, and Modern Languages and Management BAs and to the double BA on Basque Language and Culture plus Modern Languages (English).Some of his last publications inquire into the genealogy of the subaltern condition of Basque literature. He has also conducted research in the relationship between ancient regime religious literature and rhetorical theory. Mexican writer Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz has been another of his areas of interest.
