Isabel Casas received a Bachelor in Mathematics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid followed by a Postgraduate Higher Diploma in "Computational Methods and Numerical Software" from University College Dublin. After this, she spent four years working in the private sector as a Software Engineer in Dublin and Amsterdam. Her PhD in Econometrics, under the supervision of Jiti Gao, was awarded in November 2006 by the University of Western Australia. She has held academic positions at the University Carlos III, K.U. Leuven, Aarhus University and the University of Southern Denmark. As well as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics. Her publications are mainly in econometrics applied finance and economics.
