Javier Martínez Contreras holds a BA in Philosophy and Religious Science and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Deusto. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Deusto, Bilbao campus.He lectures in Ethical Challenges in the Global World, Civic and Professional Ethics at an undergraduate level, and Ethics of Globalisation on the Master’s in Ethics for Social Construction. He has been Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter of the Institut M.-D. Chenu Espaces Berlin (Germany), visiting lecturer at TEC in Monterrey (Mexico) and guest researcher at the Centro de Estudos Sociais at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and at the Otto-Suhr Institut of the Freie Universität (Berlin).His publications revolve around themes of aesthetics, ethics and political philosophy, and problems of contemporary philosophy.He is a member of the Ethics Applied to Social Reality research team at the Center for Applied Ethics at this same university.
