This Master’s degree qualifies graduates to practise Psychology in the health care sector: in psychology centres, private practices, etc.
This Master’s degree has been designed for candidates with a Licenciatura or Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Students do their internships (30 ECTS) in accredited centres and organisations, etc. under the supervision of experienced professionals.
The students take advantage of the many years that the Faculty of Psychology and Education has devoted to teaching and research on health. Another plus is the R+D+i Psychology and Health Unit.
“The Master’s in General Health Psychology has given me a closer look at our studies, in the broadest and "healthiest" sense of the word. Being able to explore the different approaches in depth and see what we can use as treatment allows us to have a clearer idea of the professional path we would like to embark on in the future.
And the internship gives you the opportunity for self-assessment, which helps you to analyse your own limitations and focus on overcoming them. Having a personal advisor is extremely useful. You can discuss aspects that may worry you, whether it’s the day to day in the Master’s or the internship.
On the other hand, having contact with professionals from different fields lecturing on the modules is a huge plus. They each have their ideas about Psychology, taking the best from different sources, giving us their view of the profession and encouraging us to reflect on different aspects such as, for instance, how strict we should be with patients.
I feel that different points of view enrich your mind. That's why I think the Master's in General Health Psychology, with the extra training that Deusto gives you to help with job searches, such as seminars, meetings and other extracurricular activities, is the perfect combination for people who want to pursue a career in Psychology in the private sector.”
