The U-Raking, developed in collaboration with the BBVA Foundation and the Valencia Institute of Economic Research (IVIE) is a key component of a programme shared by the two institutions to record and analyse the role of knowledge in social and economic development. Based on Spanish University System Synthetic Indicators, the ranking provides comparative information and lists the universities in order according to the number of results and productivity, in general and by specific areas: Teaching, Research and Innovation and Technology Development.

The 2017 U-Ranking includes 61 universities (48 public and 13 private) and analyses 2,312 Bachelor’s degree programmes.
The University of Deusto obtained the following results in the most recent ranking: The UD ranked fifth in the general classification, first in teaching, eighth in research and 16th in innovation and technology development. In the classification of the best universities, some of its Bachelor's degree programmes are listed in the top 10: Business Administration, Primary Education, Law and Mechanical Engineering.

CyD Ranking

The CyD ranking, elaborated by the Knowledge and Development Foundation, is the largest ranking of Spanish universities, listing the results of 73 universities, 22 branches of knowledge and 2,235 degree programmes. This multidimensional ranking makes use of 36 indicators for 5 areas: teaching-learning, researcher, knowledge transfer, international orientation and contribution to regional development.
In the 2018 ranking, the University of Deusto obtained 22 high performance indicators of a total of 36 indicators.
Deusto obtained 5 high performance indicators in areas such as teaching-learning and international orientation – student mobility, international doctoral dissertations and degree programmes delivered in a foreign language- , and 2 high performance indicators - of a total of 3 - in contribution to regional development: Internships in companies in the region and regional research funding. Likewise, it obtained 5 research excellence indicators – including those related to external research funds collected and liquidated- and 3 in knowledge transfer – private funds, spin-offs and continuing education revenue.
In the specific fields of Psychology and Social Work, Deusto increased its number of high performance indicators by 78% and 37.5% compared to those obtained in the previous years when both fields were assessed – 2015 and 2016, respectively-. Deusto ranks among the top five Spanish leading universities in both fields. In the Social Education field, which has been assessed in 2018 for the first time, Deusto obtained 6 high performance indicators.

U-Multirank Ranking

The world’s leading university ranking, it is elaborated by the European Commission. U-Multirank contains information on 1,500 higher education institutions from 99 countries. It analyses five aspects of universities: Research, quality of the academic staff and teaching, international orientation, success in knowledge transfer and contribution to regional economic growth.

At the institutional level, the University of Deusto received 10 of the highest indicators (very good) out of a total of 35. This marks an improvement over the 7 highest indicators obtained in 2016 out of a total of 31. The UD also obtained 11 indicators with the level of "good".

The highest indicators (very good) received were for the following aspects: rate of Master’s graduates, graduates completing the Master’s programme within the specified time regulations, agreements (strategic research agreements, professional publications, income from private sources (by academic staff), income from continuing education, companies created by graduates, student mobility and income from regional sources.

The Computer Engineering studies at the University of Deusto were included in the 2017 ranking for the first time, obtaining 5 indicators of “very good” and 4 of “good”.

Business Administration programmes at the University of Deusto obtained 3 of the highest level indicators (very good) and 11 of the following level (good). This marks an increase over the 2014 ranking where they obtained 3 of the highest level indicators and 2 of the following level.

Everis Foundation University-Business Ranking

This ranking aims to provide objective information on the link between society and university, above all in the field of employment and economic progress. It identifies the 10 best Spanish higher education institutes (public and private), based on employers’ opinions of how students' competences meet the needs of the world of business. The study collects the opinions of heads of contracting at 3,545 companies across Spain (this does not include the public sector or firms with fewer than 10 employees). The evaluation is based on 17,769 graduates of 99 different degree programmes hired by Spanish companies. Postgraduate and PhD studies are not included and said programmes are taught by 79 universities.

The University of Deusto’s Business Administration degree ranked first in Spain in the 2017 ranking for adaptation of student competences to business’s needs.

The general area of Business Administration, Economics and Law taught at the University of Deusto ranked 3rd in Spain.

Eduniversal Ranking

Eduniversal conducts two global classifications. On the one hand, the ranking of the top 1,000 business schools in 154 countries from 9 geographic areas ( and on the other, the ranking of the top 4,000 Master’s and MBA programmes in 32 fields of study in 154 countries from 9 geographic areas ( ). This ranking was created under the supervision of the International Scientific Committee, formed by 9 independent expert members.

Deusto Business School was listed in the 4 Palms of Excellence category-Top Business School with international influence in the last ranking.

In the last ranking of the best 4000 Masters and MBA programmes, the Master in Business Innovation (MBI) at Deusto Business School appears in position 33 in the “Top 200 Regional Ranking within the 9 geographical zones” classification.

Report on 50 degree programmes: This ranking includes the 50 most highly demanded Bachelor’s programmes by students and the best 5 universities to study them.

The University of Deusto was listed in 3rd position for Social Education in the 2017 ranking.

Report on 250 best Master’s degrees: It includes the 250 most demanded Spanish degrees by students and the 5 most appropriate universities to study them.
In the 2018 ranking, the University of Deusto is listed with 6 of its Master's degree programmes:

  • The Master’s in International Humanitarian Action (Cooperation area) ranked 2nd;
  • The Master’s in Intervention and Mediation with Minors (Family and Integration), the Master’s in Accounts Auditing (Auditing) and the Master’s in Special Educational Needs (Specialist fields) ranked 3rd for best Master’s degrees.
  • And the Master's in European Business Management (Business area) and the Master's in Business Law (Law area) ranked 4th.

In 5th position, the Master’s degree in Business Administration and the Master's degree in Human Resources are shown.
Ranking on influence in networks: The study conducted by El Mundo shows the University of Deusto among the top 10 most influential universities on networks, occupying 5th position.

University transparency and good governance. Transparency exam

The Commitment and Transparency Foundation releases a yearly University Transparency and Good Governance Report. Transparency exam. This report aims to measure the degree to which universities give information about their main activities and results on the Internet.

In the last report published, the University of Deusto received a total 23 positive transparency indicators out of 26, making it Spain's private university with the highest number of transparency indicators.

Global Teaching Excellence Award
