The European Commission publishes 5 implementation Plans for the European Missions

European Missions are one of the most important innovations of the Horizon Europe research and innovation program for the years 2021-2027. The missions facilitate a new way to bring concrete solutions to several biggest challenges of the UE. They have ambitious objectives and will deliver concrete results by 2030.

  • EU Mission Adaptation to Climate Change Implementation Plan

The objective of the Mission is to support at least 150 European regions and communities to become climate resilient by 2030.

  • EU Mission Cancer Implementation Plan

Ambitious goal of improving the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030, through prevention, cure and for those affected by cancer including their families, to live longer and better. It seeks to provide transformational and systemic responses based on clear goals, realistic objectives, and credible timelines.

  • EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters Implementation Plan

The objective of this Mission is to restore the health of our ocean and waters by 2030

  • EU Mission Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Implementation Plan

It is proposed that the Mission should have two central objectives:

- the first is to deliver at least 100 climate-neutral and smart European cities by 2030;

- the second is to ensure that these cities act as experimentation and innovation hubs to put all European cities in a position to become climate-neutral by 2050.
