Orkestra presents the trends that will affect the Basque economy in the coming years

Orkestra - Basque Institute of Competitiveness will present the main conclusions of the Basque Country Competitiveness Report on 10 October 2018 in Vitoria - Gasteiz. This work assesses the Basque territory's socioeconomic situation and identifies the challenges that should be overcome in the coming years in order to guarantee its competitiveness.

Chaired by the Basque government president, Iñigo Urkullu, the event will also include a roundtable discussion focusing on the main economic and social trends that will affect the Basque economy.

The event will bring together renowned representatives from the economic, business and social fields. Christian Ketels, Chief Economist of the Boston Consulting Group, will make a presentation entitled "Compete in a volatile world: Global context for the competitiveness of the Basque Country", in which he will analyze how the global trends affect Euskadi. These reflections will be the starting point for a roundtable discussion with leading business representatives.

During the event, the new Competitiveness Observatory prepared by Orkestra will also be presented. The Competitiveness Observatory is a tool created with the purpose of sharing the data collected for the main Orkestra indicators. This information will be accompanied by analysis, reflections and bibliographical references and will allow comparisons with other countries and regions.
