Last 30 October, the University of Deusto was awarded the Corporate Certificate of Registration and the IQNET Certificate by the awarding body, AENOR, the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification. These certificates ensure compliance of DeustuLan?s (the centre for Full Labour Integration at the University of Deusto) quality system with the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000 standard. Luz Emparanza Berciatúa, Director of AENOR regional office in the Basque Country, presented Jaime Oraá, Rector of the University of Deusto, with this award. Other participants in this ceremony included: Aurelio Villa, Deputy Rector for Quality and Innovation, the Deputy Rector for Student Affairs, Rosa Miren Pagola, and the Director of DeustuLan, Arantza Etxaniz.

Last 26 October, ESTE faculty celebrated its 50th anniversary with an emotional ceremony in recognition of all those people, companies and institutions that have collaborated with ESTE throughout these years. During this ceremony, special tribute was paid to its founders, deans, lecturers, services staff, students, educational establishments, companies and collaborating institutions and international universities.
Last 25 October, the second reporton the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project, GEM CAPV 2005, which evaluates entrepreneurship in the Basque Country, was presented by the lecturer at the University of Deusto and director of the GEM project, Iñaki Peña, and Ignacio de la Vega, from the Institute of Business and director of the GEM project in Spain. This research project, created in 2004 with the participation of Eusko Ikaskuntza, the University of Deusto and the University of the Basque Country, shows the current situation of the Basque Autonomous Community in the national and international entrepreneurial context, when compared with 35 countries.
