For people committed to society and individuals

If you are interested in today’s complex world of work and the problems it is facing; the relationships that arise between workers and employers within the production process and you see the need to find a balance between the rights and duties of both parties, then the BA in Labour Relations will provide you with the necessary knowledge to offer legal advice and representation to private businesses and Public Administrations on social and labour issues and to manage the people working in them.

Learning through a critical, committed and ethical attitude

In this degree programme, you will learn…

  • Law, business, economics, sociology, psychology, history and ethics, that is, training in various fields that will allow you to have an excellent knowledge of the social environment of self-employed workers, companies of all kinds and Public Administrations.
  • A number of subject areas focused on people management, the ability to speak in public and having an excellent command of psychological and negotiation techniques and strategic planning.
  • How to settle disputes resulting from conflicts of interests.
  • How to use the most suitable instruments to build a fairer world.

And all this, how?

  • Taught sessions based on practice focused theoretical lectures.
  • Participation in workshops and role plays on how to solve potential conflicts and those already existing.
  • Working through case study analysis that will bring today's labour issues closer to the classroom.
  • Performing successfully in an increasingly international context where information and communication technologies play a major role.

Choose the destination, the university and get your career off the ground

In the first semester in your fourth year of study you will have the opportunity to go to a foreign university as part of the Erasmus programme, which will allow you to know other cultures and continue with your Law studies learning other countries' legislations.

Your guide through your learning experience

You will have tutorials starting from 1st year. Tutors will assess the students as groups or individually, focusing on academic, personal and/or job aspects.

In addition to the specific tutorials, the University has a general coordination body: the University Guidance Service (SOU). Specifically, the Faculty of Law has a Careers Guidance Service (SOP) that organises, coordinates and promotes activities related to students’ professional future (practical workshops, information sessions on career opportunities in their degree, presentations by companies and law firms...). In addition, our Advisory Programme will give you the opportunity to take part in working sessions with leading professionals from outside the University of Deusto, who will help you to decide on your career choice.
