Your training

From general knowledge to specialisation

  • 1º year: You will learn the principles of design, business management and to master graphical representation tools to express your ideas. Specifically, you will acquire a solid grounding in the technological field of engineering through the mathematical, physical, mechanical and chemical fundamentals.
  • 2nd and 3rd years: You will gain an insight into the professional practice of Industrial Design, carrying out projects for companies; you will learn new methodologies and knowledge of ergonomics, marketing, aesthetics, innovation and digital fabrication at Deusto Fab Lab. At the same time, you will gain a deeper understanding of manufacturing processes, materials behaviour, project management and product engineering.
  • 4th year: You will develop your Undergraduate Final Year Project and will have the opportunity to study one academic semester abroad. And you can also do an internship in a company and define your own specialisation pathway through a number of elective subjects such as prospective, trends, eco-design and sustainability.


Study in several languages

You can combine subjects taught in Spanish, English and Basque.

Before completing the Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering you must provide proof of having a B2 level in English (equivalent to the First Certificate of the University of Cambridge).

 

Access to the best software tools

The University has Deusto FabLab, a digital fabrication laboratory with 3D printers, supported by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), where you can make your ideas come true and test them with models and prototypes in the User living lab.

And you can also be part of the Creativity lab, a collaborative and co-creation work environment where to share experiences with professionals from other countries and disciplines.
