Miren Iziar Basterretxea Moreno. PhD in Sociology (University of Deusto 1987) and Law Degree (UNED 2003). She started lecturing in 1986, at the University of Deusto and nowadays she is in charge of the subjects of Filosofia del Derecho and of Antropologia Soziala eta Kulturala.She belongs to the University of Deusto Social Values Research Team and works in the area of “Modern Society, Politics and Religion” being specially interested in the questions referred to gender and to the relations between norms and society. Along the last years she has been working on the changes on Spanish society religiosity and its social and legal consequences. She is also interested in the relations between Law and Development.She is the Director of the Social Work and Sociology Department at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Director of the University of Deusto UNESCO Chair on Training Human Resources for Latin America.
