EMMA SOBREMONTE DE MENDICUTI holds a BA in SOCIOLOGY and a PhD in SOCIOLOGY from the University of DEUSTO. She is currently Lecturer with PhD at the University of Deusto, where she teaches at the Bilbao campus. She teaches BA courses in Social Work and MA courses in Intervention and Family Mediation. Specifically, she teaches the following BA subjects: Health and Social Health Work, Intervention Models in Social Work and Social Intervention Processes and Techniques. She also teaches the following MA subjects: Advanced Tools for Social Work. Her publications mainly focus on Health and Social Health Work, Social Inequalities in Health, Socio-health Care, Ethics of Social Intervention and Social Values. She forms part of the Deusto Social Values research work, recognised by the Basque Government under category A. Other areas of research interest include Family and Childhood, and Social Intervention Models and Methods. Professional experience: Head of the Social Work Department at the Basurto Hospital, Basque Health Service-Osakidetza (1989-2000)
