Since its beginnings, the University of Deusto has focused on its mission of providing comprehensive education to train excellent professionals in different fields of knowledge, two of which are Law and Business Administration.
Tax law is one of the most complex branches and is constantly undergoing changes, thus justifying the need for a specialist programme to cover the “tax aspect” which plays a key role in almost all legal or economic decisions.
In 1987, the Institute of Tax Studies was created as part of the Law Faculty with the aim of offering the Master’s degree in Tax Consultancy.
The Law Faculty equipped it with the necessary material and professional means, leading to the creation of a diverse team of collaborating practitioners formed by University of Deusto lecturers, advisors from the Biscay Regional Treasury and the State Tax Administration, as well as members of the most prestigious tax consultancy firms in our area.
Today, this Master’s is an official degree, pursuant to Royal Decree 861/2010 of 2 July and it is offered in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Tax Consultants, which offers a number of advantages to students.
This collaboration results in the quality of teaching of future tax consultants trained at Deusto, who are equipped to:
- Take on new professional challenges
- Acquire the main competences and skills required to succeed in the field of tax consultancy
- Enter the job market
- Retrain and develop their careers
- Achieve a global view of the current economic scene, undergoing constant changes due to agreements and variables.
The Master’s degree in Tax Consultancy offers you the opportunity to join today’s increasingly complex job market. In this sense, the programme fully meets students’ expectations, as it allows access to the world of work through internships.
