Methodology

Learning assessment

Students’ progress and learning outcomes from the programme as a whole are assessed according to the following indicators:

  • Assessment system for the acquisition of competences related to the different subjects. The competences are assessed as follow:
    • A final project (60%).
    • Attendance and class participation (20%).
    • Other assignments and work (writing, presentations, bibliography searches) prepared by the student (20%).

Students are required to attend at least 80% of the sessions.
Assessment of students’ acquisition of competences will ultimately depend on the lecturer’s evaluation of their performance but may be preceded by self-assessment or peer-assessment.

  • Students are assessed by their academic tutors and onsite internship supervisors throughout the programme. Upon completion of the internships, relevant information is collected from the tutors and supervisors involved. They assess and evaluate students’ performances to determine the degree to which they have attained the competences required.
  • The Master’s Final Project. This work completes the students’ training process. The MFP is assessed by an examining board and defended in public.

The final mark takes into account all the aspects assessed during the two semesters. A pass mark is given when all the credits in the Master’s Programme have been successfully completed, according to the criteria established for each subject.

The following are taken into account for the final mark:

  • Mid-term marks (weighted according to the assigned number of ECTS credits).
  • Subjects on the Master’s programme.
  • Internships.
  • The Master’s Final Project.

 

Exam calendar

Theory modules and internships are assessed each semester:

  • First semester (October to January).
  • Second semester (February to June).

Students are entitled to sit two exam sessions:

  • First sit exams in January (first semester) and June (second semester).
  • Resit exams in July.

The Master’s Final Project is assessed at the end of the second semester. Students are required to have completed a minimum of 24 ECTS credits the first semester and to have enrolled for the remaining ECTS credits in order to do the MFP. Students are entitled to two exam sessions. The first sit exams in June and the resit exams in September.
