Practical and global competences

  • Team problem solving on different scenarios
  • Personal creative synthesis, adapted to specific needs
  • Creativity, thanks to the original ideas and solutions generated
  • Learn to overcome challenges in new and changing situations
  • Design short term projects, with specified guidelines (planning without execution).
  • Manage international trade financing instruments, adapting them to the situation being studied.

As for specific competences, the subjects taught in the programme focus on developing the following aspects:

  • Technical-practical knowledge about economic situations and the business in the reflexive stage of the legal decision making and management
  • Apply basic principles of professional ethics, determining the approach to take in specific cases.
  • Identify current issues at the state and international levels in the port-maritime scope to analyse them from a legal perspective
  • Make strategic contributions on how to run a port or maritime company.
  • Draw up a corporate social responsibility plan which highlights implementing sustainable models.
  • Inform about the structural aspects of the different types of port and maritime companies and their scopes of activity
  • Adapt international trade financing instruments to the situation being studied
  • Identify current issues at the state and international levels in the port-maritime scope to analyse them from a legal perspective
  • Make strategic contributions on how to run port and maritime companies, based on analysis of their competitive environments.
  • Draw up a corporate social responsibility plan.
  • Write out contracts and other legal documents applying and adapting the proper clauses and models.
  • Identify financing instruments for international trade, adapting them to a contingency plan for legal action.
  • Study the duties carried out by the main international organisations in the port and maritime industry.
  • Draw up legal action plans for possible contingencies.
  • Acquire a knowledge of Maritime Law principles, sources, methods, concepts, institutions and procedures.
