"EIBM students will have their efforts rewarded by gaining a magnificent preparation for their future careers"

Mikel Larreina

Director of Master's in European & International Business Management

"The official university Master’s EIBM is a consolidated, tri-lingual and demanding programme in European and International Business Management.

Since the academic year of 1990-91, the University of Deusto has offered this programme in collaboration with AUDENCIA-Nantes École de Management. Later, in 1995, Bradford University School of Management joined the Master’s. Over the years, the content, methodologies and tools of the programme have been continually up-dated in a on-going effort to provide the best training for students. Currently, the Master’s is a joint qualification from the three institutions and is recognised academically in all three countries.

The official Master’s EIBM prepares students to perform management tasks in all types of organisations (business, governmental or NGOs) that have an international dimension. The training in international and multicultural teamwork offered by the EIBM would be difficult to imitate: the presence of 10 to 15 different nationalities amongst the students in each academic year, the variety of nationalities amongst the teaching staff (about 12 different nationalities on each course), the successive use of three different languages, the production of the Final Master’s Thesis with other students with different mother tongues, the experience of living in three different European cities and the training in three prestigious universities offers participants an enriching and valuable international experience that will prove very useful in the future.

Because of the academic requirements, the mandatory international mobility and the use of three languages, the EIBM is a demanding programme; but students will have their efforts rewarded by gaining a magnificent preparation for their future careers. In an increasingly globalised economy, organisations are demanding flexible professionals who understand worldwide organisational cultures and working habits and can function in a heterogeneous cultural context.

Thanks to the approach of the EIBM and the commitment of all three participating institutions to quality education in the field of business management, over 700 students have graduated from this programme since its inauguration. They are excellently qualified to develop their careers in any of the three linguistic areas, capable of applying their solid academic training to their work context, and possess an international and multicultural vision with a strong sense of ethics and social responsibility."

  • The academic staffs of the three institutions involved in the teaching of the EIBM have proven university teaching experience on five continents, which is enriched and informed by research and professional activities.
  • Lecturers are chosen for their expertise in the various fields of management, and their teaching tasks are complimented by occasional visiting lecturers from each of the three institutions.
  • Teachers hold tutorial sessions for students during term time to support the learning process.
  • More than 60 lecturers each year participate in teaching the EIBM programme and are almost equally divided between doctoral professors (permanent academic staff of one of the three institutions) and business experts. Teachers are drawn from a dozen different nationalities.
