What after the Master?

Product Manager of Krissia at Angulas Aguinaga

I would recommend this master's degree to anyone who wants to round off their university education and expand it by entering the world of business.

I am really glad that I chose to do it and also, at the end of my six-month internship, the company offered me a permanent contract.

This master's degree is adapted to what companies today are looking for in the professionals of tomorrow.

The teaching methods used on the master’s combine both theoretical and practical classes in such a way that they encourage analytical thinking and help students learn in the classroom how to face real situations within a company.

After working in the commercial department of a multinational company, I wanted to expand my knowledge in order to give a boost to my professional career. The Master at Deusto has been a unique experience for me, because I have learned a lot in a very short time. This includes key concepts for problem solving and critical thinking, but it has also given me the opportunity to grow as a person. What I really liked about Deusto is the humanity, the level of innovation and the teachers; most of them are business professionals or entrepreneurs and work with real cases in the classroom. Thanks to what I learned in the Master, and my continuous effort to grow and learn, I was able to make the professional leap I wanted: working at Google is a great opportunity and a fantastic experience!

After studying an engineering degree, I wanted to enter the world of business and redirect my profile towards the world of business.

After completing my internship, I am currently working at MS developing a financial transformation project at an international financial institution. This master's has without doubt been an enriching experience both personally and professionally.

I did my Master's degree internship in the Financial Risk Management (FRM) Department of KPMG and after I finished, they offered me a permanent position in the department.
They give advice on financial risks, but also on risks like Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC); fraud, arbitrage, expert reports and money laundering (forensic); technological risks (ITA) or Cybersecurity, among others.

Since I had taken a primary degree in Physics, my intention was to do a Master’s degree that would give me a global view of business and, in that sense, the Master’s degree in Business Management was perfect. It introduced me to a new world, the financial world, where I am now developing my career.

The firm works on tool and dashboard development in Business Intelligence, management support in Financial Risks, the document review that financial entities must send each year to the European Central Bank, the revision of indicators of the Risk Appetite Framework, analysis and identification of risks and controls in financial entities and large companies’ risk processes… so I have done a variety of tasks.

Without any doubt, I would recommend studying this degree, especially to those who want to develop their knowledge in other fields that will later help them redirect their careers.

In my case, after taking the degree in Physics, I thought that I needed to learn as much as I could about the business world and I found the solution on this Master's programme. I learnt a lot about strategies, marketing, accounting, etc. but above all, it allowed me to know the financial world, where there is a room for people like us with technical training and a strong potential for development.

I chose the Master’s in business administration to develop organisational and trading skills that I could combine with the analytical skills I acquired on my previous Mathematics degree.

While I was doing the Master’s, I found that business consultancy was the perfect job to take part in an activity that required the combination of those skills. Currently, I am working at Everis on a project in which we offer support to our clients in the transformation of their business processes so that they can successfully complete their digitisation.

I feel that on MUDE, I have had the chance to not only develop the personal aspects that I could not develop in my previous studies, but also achieve a greater self-knowledge and find the career that best fits my concerns and personality.
