"...gave me the chance to make contact with associations working in the field of psychosocial intervention.. "
Ianire Estébanez
B.A. in Psychology
“Doing this Master’s gave me the chance to make contact with associations working in the field of psychosocial intervention and women during my internship. I also got a closer look at intervention, research and training. This Masters was really an eye-opener about violence against women. I was not familiar with the field and it has given my career a new direction.”

"The programme gives you an interdisciplinary vision, which is vital when working with victims."
Mentxu Hernando
B.A. in Social Education
The Master’s was a very enriching experience. It gave me a solid theoretical and practical background for intervention in gender violence. We know that work in this field has to start with primary intervention, which is actually prevention, and this is the guiding principle at all times in this programme.
The programme gives you an interdisciplinary vision, which is vital when working with victims, and provides future professionals with the tools and skills they need for intervention in the psycho-social-educational and legal fields. As a social educator, I am keenly aware of the fact that education is a key pillar for the eradication of this social problem and essential for intervention with victims.
Another plus was that the Master’s encouraged me to do a PhD. I am looking forward to the experience and will soon be starting my dissertation.

"The main thing is to work in a field you like and do your best at it, striving to be a good professional"
Nagore Bilbao
B.A. in Psychology
I think this Master’s gives you all-round training and when you finish you realise how well prepared you are. The main thing is to work in a field you like and do your best at it, striving to be a good professional.
Gender equality and violence against women are controversial issues and are now being taken into account on the job scene. There are many branches of violence against women, some of which have barely been studied but may provide career opportunities. Society is changing and we have to go on fighting to achieve true equality while also working in countries where inequality is even greater. This can be done from many approaches and different professional fields.

"..try to achieve an egalitarian society that is free from gender discrimination.."
Ester Escudero
B.A. in Social Work and Social Education
There have always been discriminatory actions against women. However, little research has been done and very few people are studying these issues to try to achieve an egalitarian society that is free from gender discrimination.
Personally, this Master’s has given me an insight that goes beyond the mere knowledge of professional practice and social intervention in cases of violence against women.
The Master’s has encouraged me to use my critical capacity to continue doing research in this field and combine my professional practice with research.
I am now working on my dissertation on gender and social values as I combine research with a teaching assistantship. I would never have achieved this if it had not been for the Master’s.

"..has helped me to grow professionally in different spheres.."
Arantxa Núñez
BA in Advertising and Public Relations
The Master’s degree in Intervention in Cases of Violence Against Women has given me the chance to combine a new career with the vocation to apply my interdisciplinary knowledge about equality and gender violence. I would like to recognise the great academic staff, who are outstanding for their practical experience and ethical commitment. I would have to highlight their multidisciplinary approach to teaching.
This has helped me to grow professionally in different spheres and at different levels when working with violence against women in the field of prevention as well as intervention and research. The programme has enabled me to understand the importance of getting involved in the problem of violence against women, not only as a practising professional, but also in my day to day life. It has given me a critical approach and a broad view to continue studying and working to make a difference.

"..This course has helped me in my work as a nurse since now I can offer support to mistreated women with more quality and warmth.."
Socorro Luengo
Bachelorâ¿¿s of Science in Nursing
Training is very important for the eradication of violence against women and this Master’s has equipped us for different types of intervention. This course has flown past. The internships were very interesting and rewarding and before I knew it, I had presented my thesis. This course has helped me in my work as a nurse since now I can offer support to mistreated women with more quality and warmth.
During the Master’s, I have had the opportunity to meet many classmates of different backgrounds and ages. But we all shared the same aim, and by the end of the course we had become good friends. I would like to thank the Directors of the Master’s programmes and the faculty advisors for their support and professional approach.
And I would encourage you to do this Master’s all because it is really worthwhile.
