Two modules: Specialist area and core subject area

SPECIALIST AREA

Intervention and Mediation with Minors 30 ECTS (compulsory)

  • Specific professional competence. To identify and evaluate the circumstances that determine risk situations concerning minors, selecting the most adequate strategies to change them.
  • Specific professional competence. To apply registered typologies and indicators and validated for the identification of situations of vulnerability and/or social conflict concerning minors.
  • Specific professional competence. To critically know and understand the legal and organisational field of intervention with minors in vulnerability and/or social conflict.
  • Specific professional competence. To design, implement and evaluate social and educational intervention projects with minors in situations of vulnerability and/or social conflict
  • Specific professional competence. To manage the adequate resources for each situation of vulnerability and/or social conflict both in institutional and open contexts.
  • Specific professional competence. To use mediation as an intervention strategy to find an alternative form of conflict resolution.


SUBJECT AREA:

Subject area: Internships 12 ECTS credits (compulsory)

  • Basic competence. Apply the knowledge acquired and problem-solving capacity in new or little known settings within wider (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the subject area.
  • General professional competence. To actively join and participate in the attainment of shared objectives with other persons, departments and organisations.
  • Specific professional competence. To set up positive relationships with families by expressing sympathy, listening and clearly and assertively expressing thoughts and feelings through verbal and non-verbal means.
  • Specific professional competence. To intervene with minors in vulnerable situations and/or social conflict, assessing their needs and options, and choosing the most adequate intervention methods and model. 

SUBJECT AREA: Master's final project 6 ECTS (COMPULSORY)

  • Basic competence. Inform of one’s conclusions- and the knowledge and reasons supporting them- to specialist and non-specialist audiences, making use of clear unambiguous terms.
  • Basic competence. Develop the learning skills to continue studying in an independent manner.

 

CORE AREA

SUBJECT AREA: Interdisciplinary Social Intervention 6 ECTS (COMPULSORY)

  •  Basic competence.- Integrate knowledge and face the complex task of forming judgements from information which, although incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities linked to application of one’s knowledge and judgements.
  • General professional competence.- Group thinking. Form thought processes and common reference frameworks, taking into account the positions of the members in the work group.


SUBJECT AREA: Specific Professional Tools for Social Intervention
6 ECTS (Elective)

 

  • General professional competence.- Orientation to quality.Pursue excellence in the professional field, oriented to results and centred on continuous improvement.
  • General professional competence.- Give a satisfactory response to the needs and demands of people and organisations by modifying or including new features in procedures and results.
