Welcome from the Programme director

Directora del master - Iratxe Aristegi FraduaThe Master’s in Intervention and Mediation Concerning Minors in Situations of Vulnerability and/or Social Conflict was first taught more than ten years ago at the University of Deusto, and was aimed at addressing the real need to create a specialisation area in this broad field.

This master’s degree was designed with a very specific aim: give professional responses to the wide range of youth needs, ranging from childhood to adulthood.
In today’s society and due to many factors, there are children and adolescents who are in a vulnerable or in a conflict situation. At the master’s we consider that it is the different situations of vulnerability and/or conflict with minors that actually call for the intervention of professionals with a great social commitment, high ethical standards and social skills, who are capable of using adequate techniques and tools required in each circumstance.

For this reason, this Master’s degree has a practical approach and seeks to train professionals to interact with these minors and their contexts to achieve changes, promote their development and improve their life conditions using methods and models of intervention and mediation that are adequate for each situation.
