There are two main specialisations: The subjects on this specialist pathway will provide students with a deeper understanding of Industrial Organisation so that the Master’s Final Project developed in this area can have a specialist and professional nature in the field of Industrial Engineering. This specialisation may be studied jointly with the Master’s degree in Industrial Organisation Engineering. (See double degree programmes) (Jointly with the Automotive Intelligence Centre) Deusto offers a specialist pathway worth 18 ECTS credits jointly with AIC (Automotive Intelligence Centre). Based on its vast experience in the sector, AIC is a benchmark centre with expert knowledge in the sector, which is essential for one of the key sectors of the economy. AIC has been actively involved in the design of the specialist pathway and in the teaching of course contents. Thanks to its networking capacity, AIC can offer high-value extracurricular internships to those engineers who choose this sector. This specialist pathway is industry-oriented and is highly practical. This will enable students to gain first-hand knowledge of the latest technologies used today, and the methodologies and future trends in the field of automation industry. All this is reinforced through an approach where students are actively involved in carrying out research projects. Those students who wish to further this specialist pathway in Automotion can combine it with the Specialisation Diploma in Automotive Engineering, which includes the following subject areas:

This specialist pathway is especially designed for those students planning to progress on to a PhD programme, although it is not binding. In this way, students will acquire a number of competences in the field of research that will be extremely useful during their doctoral studies. The Master’s final project will be carried out within R+D departments in companies or technology centres conducting research projects in the field of Industrial Engineering.

This pathway aims to provide internships in the industrial sector. The number of internships depends on those available each academic year. If the internships involve project development, the Master's Final Project should be carried out in the context of these internships. Otherwise, the Master's Final Project will be conducted within an academic context. *Internships are on available on a competition basis, that is, students apply for them but the candidates are selected by the companies themselves. If a student is not selected by any company once the academic year has started, he/she will be required to choose another pathway.
