Students undertake the teacher training internships at two different times, one in the first semester and another in the second. They can be done at public, private and subsidised schools, according to the agreements signed with the various institutions: Basque Government, Kristau Eskola and the Federation of Basque Schools (Ikastolas).
The internships comprise on-site work at a school for five weeks. This training is rounded off at the university with seminars and individual and group tutorials.
The internship coordinator acts as a liaison between the university and the schools to ensure continuity in the training process.
Students have two tutors. There is the on site supervisor at the school where the student does the internship. He/she will assist students with their projects in the actual school context.
The academic tutor/faculty advisor from the university will guide students, ensuring their work meets the necessary standards to ensure optimum results. Both tutors will monitor students’ learning and help them to develop the competences required.
