Maite Garaigordobil holds a PhD in Psychology, Specialism in Clinical Psychology and is Chair of Psychological Assessment and Diagnosis at the Psychology Faculty, University of the Basque Country. Her work as a lecturer and researcher centres on psychological intervention in clinical and educational contexts with a focus on developing psychological evaluation instruments and epidemiological studies (bullying, sexism). Among her contributions to child and youth intervention, the creation of 5 psychological intervention programmes is outstanding. They have been validated by experiments demonstrating their effectiveness in boosting socio emotional development and preventing violence in childhood and adolescence. She also created Cyberprogram 2.0. This intervention programme aims to prevent and reduce bullying and cyberbullying during adolescence (2014). Cyberprogram 2.0 is reinforced with an online video game entitled “Cybereduca cooperativo 2.0” (2016) to prevent bullying and cyberbullying through schools and family. She has led a number of research projects.One example is “Cyberbullying: Prevalencia en el País Vasco, conexión con variables personales y familiares, y programa de prevención e intervención” (MINECO.2013-2016).
