If you have booked accommodation through the housing programme of the University of Deusto, you should already have all the details in your possession. If not, be sure to write down the address of your accommodation and the contact phone number. It is also a good iead to have your route mapped out.

In the case of arrivals to the Basque Country through the Bilbao Airport:
Inside the Departures Hall of the Bilbao Airport there is an information desk. It is recommended that you obtain a city map of Bilbao or San Sebastian and details of how to get to the city. If you require hostel information, you can easily obtain it at the Tourist Information Office, also located inside the airport.

1st Option (cheaper but takes longer): Just outside the terminal building, in the Arrivals area, you will find a bus stop down the steps and to the right from the exit. Take the yellow bus labelled "Bizkaibus". Price of a one-way ticket: 1.30 euros (with a Creditrans card:1.05 euros)
Please note: Only cash is accepted.
Hours of operation: This service runs daily every 20 minutes, from 06:20 to midnight from the Bilbao Airport, and from 05:20 to 22:00 (every 20 mins.) from Bilbao to the airport.
Stops: Airport - Alameda Recalde, 14 (nearest stop to the university) - Gran Vía 37 - Gran Vía 74 - Termibus

If your accommoddation is not located near to one of the bus stops mentioned, your best option is to get off at the last stop, which is Bilbao's main bus station called "Termibus". From there you can take a taxi which costs an average of about 7 euros, or a cheaper mode of transport such as the metro, bus, train or tram (see the section Transportation in this guide).

In Bilbao, you must get off of the bus at the last stop: Termibus (bus terminal), where you can take the Bilbao-San Sebastian bus. Tickets may be bought at the "Autobuses PESA" window (tel. 902101210), or the ALSA window(http://www.alsa.es/portal/site/Alsa). Departures from Bilbao (Termibus Bus Terminal) to San Sebastian (Plaza Pio XII): 6.30 a 22:00 from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 09:00 to 22:00, every hour. It takes 70 minutes to get to San Sebastian and the tickets cost 9.65 euros.

2nd Option: If you choose to take a taxi directly from teh airport to your accommodation, the price will be approximately 25 euros. There is a taxi stand just outside the airport's exit.
Please note: If you travel between 23:15 and 06:15, this will be the only available means of transport.

2nd Option (more expensive but faster):Take a taxi to the Termibus Bus Terminal (the cost is around 25 euros). See "How to get from Bilbao to San Sebastian" in the section "1st Option", "Departures from Bilbao".

There is a currency exchange counter in the main hall of the Bilbao Airport, as well as 8 ATMs and 5 banks (Santander, BBK, BBVA, Caja Madrid y La Caixa) which accept all major international credit cards. Other services available at the airport: medical assistance, open from 06:00 to 23:30, meeting point, National Police, Municipal Police, and a Lost and Found office.
The airport has several restaurants. Cafetería Derio opens the latest, from 07:00 to 24:00. It is located in the Arrivals Teminal of the airport.
