Desarrollar la red de excelencia europea IMISCOE (International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion in Europe), en los temas de:
* Movimientos espaciales a través de las fronteras políticas:
- Cluster 1. Processes and mechanisms of international migration and its regulation
- Cluster 2. The causes and consequences of migration, mainly in the longer term, for both sending and receiving countries, including the phenomenon of transnationalism.

* Integración y Cohesión Social: Procesos e Intervenciones
- Cluster 3. The political dimension—legal status, citizenship and political mobilisation (including policies in this area);
- Cluster 4. The economic dimension—work, entrepreneurship and economic integration;
- Cluster 5. Social integration in a broad sense—education, housing (including segregation), health and other public domains;
- Cluster 6. The cultural dimension—linguistic, cultural and religious diversity and the related policies.
