Structural impact of Social Sciences and Humanities: DEUSTO presents its view at an international forum

On 20 and 21 September 2017, the AESIS Network organised the international conference “Boosting Impact of Social Sciences and Humanities” in Cardiff (UK). The event brought together researchers, policymakers and practitioners from the social sciences and humanities fields to explore how to boost and optimise the social impact of research and how to create stronger synergies between academic and societal outcomes.

Toñi Caro, Head of Deusto’s International Research Projects Office, presented the University’s view on “How can local & regional governments support SSH to enable structural impact?”. The presentation was made in the panel session “Enabling Impact: Structural Approaches” and covered key issues, such as transfer of knowledge, the different types of collaboration programmes and the Smart Specialisation Strategies.
